About John Dee
John Dee has been wielding the tools of the painting trade for over 30 years. A native son of Concord, Massachusetts, Dee established his company there in 1977. Having attended the School of Guitar Research and Design (GRD) guitar-building school in Vermont, and The New England School of Art & Design, Dee is an artisan who brings the highest level of craftsmanship to his trade. Dee's trademark has been attention to detail and a passion for the quality of the painted finish.
In 1995, Dee's work on a historical
house in Boston captured the attention of This Old House producer, Bruce
Irving , which led to Dee's work on their Salem project. He has since
worked on six of their TV projects, and is featured regularly in This
Old House Magazine. In addition he has written articles for This Old House
Online. Producer Bruce Irving refers to John as "the Norm Abram of painting".
